Gatineau, A City of Festivities and Rich Heritage
Gatineau, Canada is a city located in the western part of Quebec. It is considered as the fourth-biggest city in Quebec and is home to more than 270,000 residents as of 2016. The town was underdeveloped until the American Revolutionary War when land grants were made to Loyalists. The city now houses a handful of recreational amenities and attractions, along with a wide variety of hotels, accommodations, shops, and restaurants available at the visitors’ disposal.
Best Time to Visit
July is one of the best months to visit Gatineau, especially during the first week when the city hosts their annual Gatineau Wonders of Sand festival. The event dates back to 2001 and attracts more than 15,000 sand sculptors every year. The weather is pretty comfortable during this season, which also happens to be the busiest season for tourism in the area, so expect more crowded Gatineau, Canada hotels. But if you’re coming in November, there are fewer tourists and cheaper rooms around.
