Galeria: A Classic Small Town Getaway
The town of Galeria in Corsica is a small, quiet town that’s still unaccustomed to having throngs of visitors coming over. A number of tourists though had discovered it as a beach destination a few years back so it has now become a holiday destination. Galeria has a beautiful but pebble-covered beach with a spectacularly scenic view but has no commercial infrastructure or public structures yet.
Best Time to Visit
A good time to swing by Galeria is around mid-September when the temperature is just the right kind of hot and when the big summer crowds have gone home. The busiest time in Galeria is from June until September when more tourists come over for their summer vacation. This period is also the most expensive in terms of Galeria FR hotel rates. Galeria and the whole island of Corsica abound with music, art and cultural festivals showcasing the local color and all these events happen during the summer months.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Visitors who want to spend a tranquil time at the beach should spend a day at Plage de Galeria to enjoy the sun, sand and sea as well as be surrounded by great scenery. Not too far from the beach is Hotel Carré Noir, a modern hotel that’s perfect for sun vacationers. The Hotel Napoleon, on the other hand, is in the neighboring Ajaccio while Hotel Kalliste is a casual hotel located in Ota and is situated on cliffs overlooking the Golfe de Porto. Auberge Ferayola has cottages and rooms and has free access to its tennis court, pools and bar/lounge.
