Danbury Municipal Airport or DXR Airport is a public airport located in Danbury, Connecticut. It serves the Danbury, Connecticut area and is owned by the city of Danbury. The history of the airport dates back to 1928. At the time, local pilots bought a 60-acre land and named it Tucker’s Field. It was leased later on to the town and became the Danbury Municipal Airport. Today, the airport occupies 248 acres of land and has two runways with an asphalt surface. Runway 8/26 measures 4,422 feet long and runway 17/35 measures 3,135 feet long. As of 2015, the airport had a record of 61,270 aircraft operations, 56% of which was from general aviation and 40% from transient general aviation.
