Ramada is an international hotel chain that operates in more than 63 countries all over the world. Since 1953, over 800 hotels under this hotel chain in succession. In addition, it is known for being one of the hotel chains owned and operated by Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. When it first opened, the hotel was founded by Michael Robinson and a restaurateur, Marion W. Isabel.
The first Ramada Hotel that opened to the public was a 60-room facility in Flagstaff, Arizona. The name “Ramada” was from the Spanish word “rama”, which means “branch”. One of the distinct quirks of Ramada hotels is that each structure adapts architecture that is based from colonial designs.
Just like any other business venture, the Ramada Inns, Inc also experienced some challenges. As a result, management had to split operations to include a hotels and casinos. Since Ramada was sold to New World Development, the gaming aspect of the business was spun into a new company Aztar Corporation.
Ramada currently offers various hotel tiers that suit the budget and services needed by their clients. Thus, the clients can choose either Ramada Limited, Ramada Inn/Suites, Ramada Hotel/Hotel & Resort/Hotel & Suites, Ramada Plaza, or Ramada Resorts. Each tier offers specific amenities and services.
