Dominical: Surf’s Up
Dominical, Costa Rica is a beach town opening out to the Pacific Ocean and is best known as a surfing haven in Central America. Dominical is served by Buenos Aires Airport (BAI) and is only about two hours by car from the airport.
Best Time to Visit
Dominical is one of those rare surf spots that get good waves year-round. What to Do & Area Attractions
Visitors come to Dominical for the waves, but that doesn’t mean surfing is the only thing to do in town. While surfers might opt for a day at Arco Beach or Ventanas Beach, others might be interested in a day trip to Parque Reptilandia, which has wildlife attractions that are fun for the whole family.
Surfers visiting with their families will be interested in staying at Dominical, Costa Rica hotels like the Villas Rio Mar, which offers both convenient access to the beach and fun on-site amenities for guests of all ages. Couples and others looking for a more quiet, secluded spot, on the other hand, should check out the Villas Alturas, which is set on a mountainside overlooking lush forests and a view out to the sea. For groups with diverse interests, though, the Hotel Cuna del Angel might be the best option, with its in-house restaurant, spa set amidst a wildlife and nature reserve extending out to the water.
