Colmar – Houssen Airport – CMR
Houssen Airport, or much formerly known as Colmar-Houssen Airport, is a public-use airfield located in the commune of Houssen, about a kilometer away from the northern part of the commune of Colmar, France. The airport primarily handles the passenger traffic from Colmar and its neighboring communes in the department of Haut-Rhin in the region of Alsace. Travelers can reach the airport via Autoroute A35 in northeastern France or through the Colmar Station. Colmar-Houssen Airport is internationally recognized by its IATA airport code of CMR.
Best Time to Visit
The airfield is found at an altitude of more than 190 meters above the mean sea level. There are two runways currently in use in Houssen Airport, one of which is a paved airstrip, and the other is of a grass surface. The paved track numbered 01/19, runs to a length of 1,610 meters, while the grass track runs to 950 meters. There are numerous sites to see while visiting Houssen, some of which are the nearby towns of Bischwiller, Carre d’Or, and La Wantzenau.

You can also fly into the area via Saint-Dié - Remomeix Airport, which is just 45 minutes from Houssen, and Strasbourg International Airport, which is only 42 minutes away.
