Cherkasy International Airport- CKC
Cherkasy International Airport is an airport owned by the city council and located a few miles away from the city center of Cherkassy, Ukraine. It serves the city as well as nearby towns and regions in Cherkasy Oblast. Situated 114 meters above mean sea level, it was once known as one of the biggest airports located in the USSR. It has an international status and can receive and host aircrafts travelling from one country to the other. An average of 80 flights in a day is served in the airport.
Best Time to Visit
Cherkasy International Airport had prior challenges keeping up with the demands of an international airport. In 1992, they ceased operations in taking international flights and in 2002, eventually closed due to economic problems. It was renewed in March 2007. After reconstructions and improvements in the airport, it took the international status once more in March 2009 and began serving cargo and passenger airlines both for charter and international flights. Its nearest city Cherkasy is a great place to explore to see parks and gardens as well as zoos and petting areas.
