The Eastern Iowa Airport – CID Airport
The Eastern Iowa Airport was formerly known as the Cedar Rapids Airport. It was later on renamed to the Eastern Iowa Airport in 1997 to reflect the status of the airport as a regional airport. It is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and sits on 3,288 acres of land.

CID Airport began as Cedar Rapids Municipal Airport. It was created with the help of military funding back in 1944. By 1969, the airport had as much as 31 airline arrivals every day and a record 353,000 passengers. The present terminal of the current airport was designed by the Brown, Healey Bock Architects and Planners and was dedicated in 1986. Today, the airport has five airlines serving passengers that go on non-stop flights to a total of 14 destinations. There are 13 gates in total at the airport with renovations underway. In 2008, the airport hit a milestone of 1 million passengers for the first time and in 2017, it served a total of 1,143,335 passengers. Residents of Mount Vernon, Homestead, Cedar Rapids and many more of the neighboring cities go to CID as their airport of choice.
