Calangute is a town located in North Goa and it is most famous for its beach, so much so that it was named the Queen of Beaches. When planning a visit to Calangute, India, it is best to avoid the monsoon season, from June to September. At this time the sea is rough, and swimming is not allowed. The months of November to February is generally the most pleasant time for a visit to Calangute. Expect a large crowd when visiting during Christmas, New Year, and the summer month of May.
