Bremerhaven Regional Airport– BRV Bremerhaven, Germany
Bremerhaven Regional Airport (BRV) was a regional airfield mainly used for general aviation and leisure flying activities. The airport is located around 4 miles from the city center of Luneort, a district of Bremerhaven, Germany. The BRV closed on February 29, 2016. It would be demolished and on its site will risea freight seaport. The new Sea-Airport Cuxhaven/Nordholz ((FCN) located at the jointly-used Nordholz Naval Airbase now serves as BRV’s replacement. The area already had an airfield back in 1926 but it was only in 1999-2000 when the airfield was developed into a regional airport.

The BRV-Bremerhaven Regional Airport had completed many improvements to its facilities and amenities before it got its regional airport status. The small local airport used to offer two daily domestic flights operating to Düne Island and Heide–Büsum. It had seven hangars with a total area of approximately 6000m² for aircraft storage and maintenance. It also featured 2 asphalt runways. Reaching places like Bremen, Frankenburg, Hemmelsberg and Okel, only take more than an hour’s travel from Bremerhaven Regional Airport.
