Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport – BOD Bordeaux, France
One of the busiest airports in France is the Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport (BOD), an international airport in Bordeaux, France serving up to 6 million passengers in 2017. It is located in the commune of Mérignac, 12 kilometers from the city center. Serving flights within the country and international cities and leisure destinations of Europe and Northern Africa, it is the largest in the region. The groundwork for the airport was laid in 1912 and today, more than 100 years later expansions and modernization are being done to be able to cope with the demands of a growing passenger number.

The BOD-Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport has three passenger buildings that house its three terminals. Terminal A is primarily for international flights, Terminal B caters to mostly domestic flights specifically between Paris and Bordeaux and the newest is Terminal Billi, a facility for budget airlines. The airport provides service to 132 routes with 31 airlines (including 12 low costs airlines). Some of surrounding cities includes Cubzac-les-Ponts, Arveyres, and Beychac-et-Caillau.
