Blue Star Contemporary Art Center, San Antonio, Texas, United States of America
Blue Star Contemporary Art Center is the first non-profit institution established for modern art in San Antonio, Texas. It is also the longest-operating contemporary art space in the city as it was built in 1986 by a group of artists. Located in the Blue Star Arts Complex, the art center or BSC provides several programs, with two of these involving lessons for inspiring artists as well as for students who would like to learn about art. Other than that, BSC has been teaming up with other organizations for various off-site art exhibitions.
In addition to collaborations and off-site showcases, BSC has also accomplished nine public projects thanks to its creative MOSAIC students. From the art space, several attractions are within easy reach, like the Belmeade Park and the Buckhorn Saloon and Museum. Visitors would love these spots as the former provides a quiet and spacious setting for fun and relaxation, while the latter is ideal for savoring local food and appreciating impressive wildlife exhibits. The Cibolo Nature Center in Boerne, on the other hand, is perfect for both leisure and business travelers as outdoor activities and spaces for weddings and meetings are available at the site. Boerne also offers a wide selection of hotels for accommodation. Hampton Inn and Suites San Antonio/Market Square, TX is one of the highly-rated properties as it is a short distance from the city’s historic downtown and it provides breakfast, internet, and parking that are all free. The budget-friendly Candlewood Suites San Antonio Downtown offers an outdoor pool, free parking, and free WiFi.
