The city changed it names in 1882 and became Bay St Louis. The region was the historic site of the Battle of Pass Christian. Hurricane Katrina created a devastating damage to the region during its siege in 2005. The city has been thriving since then and continuously develops despite the challenges the city experienced due to the damages the strongest hurricane in the region.

The Biloxi Lighthouse is one of the stunning landmarks located near the shores of Bay St Louis. Situated near the Gulf of Mexico, this 19 meter structure has been in the region since 1848 and is currently more than 17 years old. Another favorite local attraction in the region is the Crooked Feather Sculpture. This 30 -foot structure features a face a bust structure of an Indian with a feather sticking out of its head.
