About Holiday Inn Express Hotel By InterContinental Brand Hotels

The Holiday Inn Express Hotel is a part of the InterContinental Hotels Group family. It is a mid-priced hotel chain that caters to the “upper economy”. Tagged as an “express” hotel, it focuses on offering limited services at a reasonable price. The amenities are convenient and practical and target business travels and tourists on short-term stays. As of September 2018, there are 2,687 Holiday Inn Express hotels throughout the world with over 274,000 rooms.

The first Holiday Inn Express locations opened in the United States in 1991. By 1998, the brand created such an amazing campaign ad called “Stay Smart” which clicked and helped skyrocket the hotel’s success. Originally, the first few Holiday Inn Express properties were the no-frills type hotels. Newer Holiday Inn Express hotels now offer most of the amenities that its higher-end counterpart offers.

There are four hotels in the Holiday Inn family of brands. These include the Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Club Vacations. The Holiday Inn Express is different from the other brands in its style.
