When it first opened, the hotel was founded by Michael Robinson and a restaurateur, Marion W. Isabel.
The first Ramada Hotel that opened to the public was a 60-room facility in Flagstaff, Arizona. The name “Ramada” was from the Spanish word “rama”, which means “branch”. One of the distinct quirks of Ramada hotels is that each structure adapts architecture that is based from colonial designs.
