About Ibersol Group La Riera de Gaia
A multi-brand group, Ibersol Group that serves the Iberian Peninsula and other Portuguese-speaking countries is a systematized food services business in Europe. The brand started out in 1994 and opened the very first Pizza Hut in Albufeira, managed by the Ibersol Group. Although the brand started out in the food service business in 1989, it initially integrated together with the tourism sector of the Sonae Group to be able to provide food services for hotels. By 1994, Iberson managed to get into bigger projects in the leisure and catering business.
The year 1995 was all about building their brands and making their presence strong and influential in Europe. Ibersol group began entering the franchising business and took a contract together with PEPSICO to be able to open the KFC fast food chain brand in Portugal. Ibersol became bigger in 1998 and had over 2770 employees and 104 properties/food service outlets under its management. Ibersol became one of the biggest names in several fast food segments such as burgers, American food, Brazilian Food, pasta, Sandwiches, Chicken and Pizza.
By the year 2000, the group was already earning more than 82 million euros with its 124 different food service concepts and 3,050 employees under its wings.
