About Amari Hotels By ONYX Ban Khlong Sam Tawan Ok
Amari is one of the three distinct brands of hotel chain ONYX Hospitality Group targeted at business and leisure travelers. The two others are OZO and Shama. Amari’s network of mid to upscale properties reflects the vibrancy of developing contemporary Asia and the Middle East, starting from the scenic beachside locations of Thailand to exciting metropolitan settings of Pattaya, Hua Hin, Samui, Krabi, Phuket, Bangkok, Dhaka, Doha, Yangshuo in China, the Maldives, Galle in Sri Lanka, Johor Bahru, and VangVieng in Laos.
Amari was founded in 1965 and was initially called Amari Hotels & Resorts Company Limited. It was operated by a Thai-based hotel and resort chain Italthai Group which was later on rebranded as ONYX Hospitality Group in 2010. This over five-decade-old hotel chain manages over 33 properties across the Asian region and is ramping up to develop more properties in the coming years.
Amari first expanded in the Middle East in January 2013 with the opening of Amari Doha at the heart of Qatar. On the same year, it launched 435-room Amari Pecatu, its first hotel in Bali, Indonesia to further mark its international expansion. It also made headlines when it announced the opening of its first football-themed hotel in Buriram, in honor of Buriram United F.C., a local football team.
