Rotana or Rotana Hotel Management Corporation PJSC is a hotel management company whose operations are in the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey. The group is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates which was also where it was founded by Nasser Al Nowais and Selim El Zyr in 1992. The two founders were already established names in the hospitality industry of the Middle East before they came up with this company. Nasser was also an important contributor in the formation of the Abu Dhabi National Hotels—a project that has proved success throughout the years. In 1997, two more hotels were opened in Abu Dhabi after their first launch in 1993 in the same city. As the 21st century arrived, the corporation made more expansions, now reaching Egypt and Lebanon right within 2000. By 2005, they were already running 20 properties. In the same year, they were recognized with the “Best Hotel Brand Award” for being rated the highest among all hotels brands within GCC.

This award motivated the group more. Each year since then, they were creating projects, building establishments, and acquiring more marketable assets for their corporation. Even in 2020, they already have set developments to add in their impressive portfolio. Until then, the group continues to provide world-class hospitality to each of its hotels under the Rotana brand.
